JBCP conducts March awareness campaign

AMMAN (JT) - Under the slogan “Early Detection of Breast Cancer Saves Lives”, the Jordan Breast Cancer Programme (JBCP) is conducting a campaign throughout March to raise awareness on breast cancer and the importance of early detection. The campaign engages healthcare centers - particularly in remote and underprivileged areas - to provide free of charge clinical breast examinations.

King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC) Director General Mahmoud Sarhan highlighted the role such campaigns play in educating and increasing awareness of women and engaging them in the battle against breast cancer, and emphasized every woman’s responsibility towards her own health as well as her fundamental contribution to building a health conscious society with reduced incidence and mortality rates.

JBCP Director Salma Jaouni, noted that the campaign is merely the beginning of the programme’s activities, with many more planned to ensure the provision of comprehensive and consistent services for early detection.
