AMMAN (JT) - Hikma Pharmaceuticals will assist the King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC) with its awareness programmes through an agreement signed on Tuesday.
Under the agreement, Hikma will support the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) in reprinting its awareness kits, which the centre distributes to its patients. In addition, Hikma organized a volunteer day at KHCC where 35 employees participated.
Some employees helped out in a field survey related to the early detection of breast cancer, while others spent the day with pediatric patients at the centre, providing them with entertainment and gifts.
“We are very proud of our partnership with KHCF, as this is part of giving back to our community and be there for those who are suffering,” Hikma Director of Corporate Communication Hana Ramadan said.
HRH Princess Dina Mired thanked Hikma for their support, noting that the brochures will help educate the public on recognizing symptoms, performing self-exams, and getting regular checkups. The pamphlets will also educate on the importance of early detection and its subsequent link with improved cancer cure rates.
Princess Dina Mired also briefed Hikma officials on the latest developments at the centre. The delegation also toured a number of facilities including the Khalid Shoman Nuclear Medicine Department, Medical Library and Telesynergy.
