An important milestone in the work of JBCP and for Jordan as a whole is the first-ever publication of Breast Cancer Screening and Diagnosis Guidelines for Jordan, designed to provide relevant healthcare professionals with the recommended standards and procedures as well as a consistent framework for screening.
These national guidelines have been endorsed by the Jordanian Ministry of Health and are acknowledged by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). Representatives from various medical sectors in Jordan including the public, private, military and NGO sectors have worked collectively on tailoring these guidelines to the Jordanian context and needs.
The guidelines will be disseminated to relevant health professionals though training workshops throughout the Kingdom and will serve as reference manual covering clinical breast examination, mammography, pathology, and, referral. They also contain step by step process on how to conduct a clinical breast exam.
